How To Get Windows 7 Colours and Appearance in Vista
If you would like to get Windows 7 appearance style in Windows Vista, follow the steps below.
- Download the following ZIP file which contains Windows 7 “themecpl.dll” & “themecpl.dll.mui” files.
Download Windows 7 “Color and Appearance” Tab for Vista - Now go to your “C:\Windows\System32” folder and locate “themecpl.dll”.
- Then take ownership of each of themecpl.dll file (How to? Read: How To Take Ownership)
- Rename “themecpl.mui” to “themecpl_old.mui”.
- And now extract and copy themecpl.dll from the downloaded ZIP file and paste to your “C:\Windows\System32” folder.
- Now go to “C:\Windows\System32\en-US” and locate themecpl.dll.mui
- Take ownership of that file and rename to “themecpl_old.dll.mui”
- Now copy themecpl.dll.mui from downloaded zip file and past to “C:\Windows\System32\en-US” folder.
- At last, run the install.reg file present in downloaded ZIP archive.
- Reboot for changes to take effect.
